Quick Answer: The best zero-turn mower at Tractor Supply for most homeowners is the Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 54 ($3,899.99). It has a 54-inch 11-gauge fabricated deck and a 23 HP Kawasaki V-twin, and Cub Cadet backs it with a 3-year, unlimited-hour warranty plus lifetime limited coverage on the frame and deck shell. The cheapest zero-turn Tractor Supply sells is the Troy-Bilt Z42 ($2,999.99). The best-value V-twin is the Troy-Bilt Mustang Z50 ($3,499.99), and the Bad Boy Magnum 54 ($4,299.99) has the thickest deck in the aisle. Skip the Mustang Z42 if it’s still listed at $3,999.99.

Tractor Supply is mostly a Cub Cadet store when it comes to zero-turns. On October 30, 2026, Google’s shopping results showed 24 zero-turn mowers with Tractor Supply Company as the seller. Twelve of them were Cub Cadets, and the rest came from Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, Toro, Bad Boy and Yard Force. Prices ran from $2,999.99 for a Troy-Bilt Z42 to $7,999.99 for a battery Toro TimeCutter. It is also the big-box store to visit for Bad Boy, whose Magnum has a 7-gauge welded deck. Below is how the main picks compare, plus the price and naming traps we found.

Prices are Tractor Supply’s own listings as shown in Google’s shopping results on October 30, 2026. We cross-checked them against cubcadet.com, troybilt.com, husqvarna.com, badboycountry.com and yardforceusa.com the same day. Specs and warranty terms come from each manufacturer’s product and warranty pages. Prices change often and can differ by store.

1. Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 54 — Best Overall

Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 54 (item 17RIEAEM010)

Best overall · 23 HP Kawasaki FR691V 726cc · 54" 11-gauge fabricated AeroForce deck · $3,899.99
  • Hydro-Gear EZT 2200 transmission, 7 mph forward and 3.5 mph reverse, per Cub Cadet's spec table.
  • Cub Cadet's warranty is "3-year unlimited hours", plus lifetime limited coverage on the frame and the fabricated deck shell. You get the same coverage whether you buy at Tractor Supply or a dealer.
  • Cub Cadet's own site lists it at $3,899 but showed it out of stock on October 30, 2026. Tractor Supply's store stock may be the easier way to get one this season.
  • The Z2 54P ($3,999 list) is the same mower with front caster suspension. The 46-inch Z2 46 is $3,699.99 at Tractor Supply if your gates are narrow.

Tractor Supply charges Cub Cadet’s list price, plus 99 cents. Every 2026 Ultima model we could match was priced that way on October 30, 2026:

Cub Cadet modelDeckSteeringcubcadet.com listTractor Supply

Ultima Z3 60S60" reinforced fabricatedSteering wheel$6,599$6,599.99

So you won’t save money on a Cub Cadet at Tractor Supply. You will get a store nearby, in-store stock and Tractor Supply’s own financing. Cub Cadet dealers can cut deeper. On the same day, one Cub Cadet dealer listed the Z3 60S at $5,599.99, $1,000 under list. Our Cub Cadet zero-turn mower guide covers the full 2026 range.

2. Troy-Bilt Z42 — Cheapest Zero-Turn at Tractor Supply

Troy-Bilt Z42 (model 17AFFACS066)

Cheapest · 547cc single-cylinder · 42" deck · $2,999.99
  • $2,999.99 at Tractor Supply, $48 less than the $3,048 Home Depot charged for the same model on October 29, 2026.
  • It uses a 547cc single-cylinder engine with no horsepower rating on Troy-Bilt's page, and it has no rear tow hitch. That's fine for a 1-acre lot, but not if you plan to pull a cart or a dethatcher.
  • Tractor Supply's listing title calls it a "547cc Mustang 42". Troy-Bilt itself calls it just the Z42, and the real Mustang Z42 is a different mower with a Kohler V-twin.
  • Same price, other brand: Tractor Supply also lists a Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 42IP at $2,999.99. The ZT1 line has been replaced for 2026, and Cub Cadet's current entry model, the Z1 42, lists at $2,999 with a 547cc IntelliPOWER engine and a 13-gauge stamped deck.

A single-cylinder engine is the main thing you give up at this price. Every other pick here has a V-twin, which runs smoother and copes better with thick grass and slopes. If you mow more than an acre every week, the extra $500 for the Mustang Z50 (pick 3) is money well spent. For other options under $3,500, see our best zero-turn mower for the money guide.

3. Troy-Bilt Mustang Z50 — Best Value V-Twin

Troy-Bilt Mustang Z50 (model 17BRFACQA66)

Best value V-twin · 24 HP Kohler KT724 747cc · 50" deck · $3,499.99
  • A 24 HP Kohler V-twin and a 50-inch deck for $3,499.99. That's $400 less than the Cub Cadet Z2 54, though the Cub Cadet has the better fabricated deck and longer deck-shell warranty.
  • Troy-Bilt lists a 3-year limited warranty and a lifetime limited frame warranty on the Mustang Z42, with no commercial use covered. Confirm the Z50's exact frame terms on its listing.
  • The 46-inch Mustang Z46 (17ARFACTA66) was $3,399.99, only $100 less. It has a 22 HP Kohler twin and a 12-gauge deck.

The Mustang Z42 price trap. Tractor Supply’s listing for the 42-inch Mustang Z42 (17ARFACSA66) showed $3,999.99 on October 30, 2026. Troy-Bilt’s own list price is $3,229, and Home Depot had it at $3,299 the day before. At that price the smallest Mustang costs $500 more than the 50-inch Mustang Z50 in the same aisle. If the Z42 is still listed that high when you shop, buy the Z46 or Z50 instead, or buy the Z42 elsewhere. Our Troy-Bilt zero-turn mower guide compares the whole Mustang line.

4. Bad Boy Magnum 54 — Thickest Deck

Bad Boy Magnum 54 (Rehlko-Kohler 24 HP)

Thickest deck · 24 HP Rehlko-Kohler 7000 KT724 747cc · 54" 7-gauge formed and welded deck · $4,299.99
  • Bad Boy describes the deck as "3/16˝ or 7-Gauge All Steel, Formed and Welded" with reinforced edges and extra 1/4-inch side plates. No other mower in this roundup has a deck that thick.
  • Dual Hydro-Gear EZT-2200 drives, up to 6 mph and a 6-gallon tank, per Bad Boy's spec table.
  • $4,299.99 at Tractor Supply versus $4,772 for the same 24 HP Rehlko configuration in Bad Boy's own online build-and-price tool.
  • The warranty is the weak point. Bad Boy's 2026 warranty for the MZ Rambler and Magnum is "two (2) years or (200) hours", with lifetime coverage only on the deck's leading edge (labor covered for the first year). Engines are warranted separately by their maker.

Compare that with the Cub Cadet Z2 54. It costs $400 less, has a thinner 11-gauge deck, and carries 3 years with no hour limit plus a lifetime deck shell. On a 2-acre lot mowed weekly, 200 hours can arrive in the second season. Buy the Bad Boy if deck durability matters more to you than warranty length. Bad Boy’s own build pages say these mowers are “Not available in National Retailers,” so the engine and price you see there may not match Tractor Supply’s version. Check the engine model on the listing. Tractor Supply also carries the cheaper MZ Rambler 42 (19 HP Briggs & Stratton, listed at $3,799 in SlashGear’s August 2026 roundup), the ZT Elite 60, the ZT Avenger 60 and the Maverick 60. Our Bad Boy zero-turn mower guide compares the full range.

5. Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 42S — Best Steering-Wheel Zero-Turn

Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 42S

Best steering wheel · 21.5 HP Kawasaki FR651V · 42" 11-gauge fabricated deck · $4,899.99
  • Cub Cadet's Synchro-Steer replaces the two lap bars with a steering wheel and dual foot pedals, while each rear wheel is still driven independently. The steering-wheel Ultima S models list from $4,099 to $6,599 on cubcadet.com.
  • The wheel costs exactly $1,300 more than the lap-bar Z2 42 ($3,599.99 at Tractor Supply). Decide whether that's worth it before you pick a deck size.
  • Same 3-year, unlimited-hour warranty and lifetime frame and deck-shell coverage as the lap-bar Z2.
  • The cheapest steering-wheel zero-turn at Tractor Supply is the Z1 42S at $4,099.99, but it has a stamped deck and a 547cc single-cylinder engine.

Tractor Supply carried every Ultima S size we looked for, from the Z2 46S ($4,999.99) and Z2 50S ($5,099.99) up to the Z3 50S ($5,899.99) and Z3 60S ($6,599.99). See our steering-wheel zero-turn guide for how Synchro-Steer compares with EGO’s e-STEER.

6. Yard Force YF56vRX-Z42 — Battery Option

Yard Force YF56vRX-Z42 42" 56V Zero-Turn

Battery option · 56V LFP battery · 42" deck · $6,499.99
  • $6,499.99 at Tractor Supply, $499 less than the $6,999 Yard Force charges on its own store.
  • Tractor Supply's listing title claims "up to 4 acres per charge" and lists a 5-inch LCD, LED lights, a USB port and a rear hitch. Yard Force's own product page doesn't publish a runtime or acreage figure, so treat the 4-acre number as a best case.
  • Tractor Supply also lists the Greenworks CrossoverZ 42 (60V) and Toro's TimeCutter 60V MAX 54 (model 75851) at $7,999.99.

Battery zero-turns cost more at Tractor Supply than at Home Depot. Home Depot’s Ryobi ZR3 is $3,999, rated by Ryobi at up to 2 acres per charge, so it costs $2,500 less than the Yard Force. If you have under 2 acres and a Home Depot nearby, that’s the better buy. Our best electric zero-turn mower guide compares every current battery model.

Husqvarna: compare the numbers. Tractor Supply listed the Husqvarna Z254F at $3,999.99 and titled it “24HP Kawasaki”. Husqvarna’s own site lists the Z254F Special Edition at $3,699, with a 23.1 HP Kawasaki FR engine, a 54-inch 10-gauge fabricated deck and 6.5 mph. Husqvarna’s 24 HP 54-inch model is the Z254FX (its spec block is labelled Z 275X 54) at $4,699, and Tractor Supply had the Z275X 54 at $4,799.99. Only the MZ61 ROPS Special Edition matched Husqvarna’s price, at $6,999.99 versus $6,999. Our Husqvarna zero-turn mower guide covers the range.

Toro: dealers were cheaper. Toro’s own retail-partner list names Tractor Supply alongside Lowe’s and Ace Hardware. Tractor Supply’s 54-inch TimeCutter MAX was $5,099.99. Toro dealers listed the 54-inch TimeCutter MAX Havoc MyRIDE (model 77507) for between $4,350 and $4,799 the same day, against Toro’s $4,999 list. Check the Toro model number before you compare prices. See our Toro zero-turn mower guide for the full TimeCutter and TITAN lineup.

What to know before buying a zero-turn at Tractor Supply

Tractor Supply vs Lowe’s vs Home Depot

Each of the three big stores has its own brands. Tractor Supply is the only one of them where we found Bad Boy zero-turns. Lowe’s is where Toro and the John Deere Z500 series are easiest to find (see our Lowe’s zero-turn mower guide). Home Depot has the exclusive Murray and Ryobi models and the cheapest battery zero-turn (see our Home Depot zero-turn mower guide). Cub Cadet’s 2026 Ultima line is sold at both Tractor Supply and Home Depot. If you want a dealer-only brand like Scag, Ferris, Exmark or Grasshopper, none of the three sells it. See our best commercial zero-turn mower guide.

The bottom line

For most yards, the Cub Cadet Ultima Z2 54 is the best zero-turn at Tractor Supply. It has a fabricated 11-gauge deck and a Kawasaki V-twin, and its warranty has no hour cap and covers the deck shell for life, all for $3,899.99. The Troy-Bilt Z42 is the cheapest way in at $2,999.99. The Mustang Z50 is the best-value V-twin at $3,499.99. The Bad Boy Magnum 54 has the thickest deck in this roundup, but only a 2-year or 200-hour warranty. The Ultima Z2 42S is the steering-wheel pick. Whichever you choose, match the model number, check the price against the maker’s own list, and ask who handles warranty service near you. To compare these against dealer brands, see our full zero-turn mower guide.
